Allotment

[作者:闫文国 转贴自:本站 点击数:173 更新时间:2018-04-09 文章录入:Allotment]

“Come, come, come to the blackboard and draw what one of us will describe for you!”. I said to Donny and Miri in my class when the whole class were reading the email because I found that my students did not catch the meaning of the word 'allotment ' in it. So a boy student called Toby was encouraged to look the word up in his e-dictionary and paraphrase it.

My kids are lovely and smart. The description of the word was clear and the drawing was perfect!

Look!!!

Now the following is the email from my friend Chris, former head of the Sir Roger Manwood's where I worked in 2004.

Dear William,

Very good to hear from you. Thank you for the invitation.

Unfortunately I will be unable to visit you this summer. Our son, Tom, will be visiting us then with his wife and child. They live in Phoenix, Arizona where he teaches at the university, so we don’t get to see them that often. I would very much like to visit Hengshui again and see you all, so hope that another invitation may come in the future!

How are things going with you? I hope everything is well and that you are enjoying your job. Please give my best regards to all your colleagues, especially the Principal and Bursar!

Will you be coming to the UK again?  Remember there is always an invitation to stay with us.

I am enjoying retirement, playing tennis and golf and also working in the garden and on the allotment. Our other two children live and work in London so we see them quite often. Julie works just two days a week so we have a lot of spare time for leisure activities.

All very best wishes for now.

Chris
